Description: Van der Beijl in uniform of soldier of the grenadiers: gray pants with red stripe, blue jacket with red cuffs and epaulettes and yellow bands on chest, black hat with red plume. Depicted full-length, nearly frontal, turned slightly to the right, standing in front of bushes. He holds his left hand on the hilt of his saber, which hangs from a broad white bandelier in the middle in front of his chest, while in his right hand he holds an end of cigar in front of him. Originally behind glass in mahogany frame.
