Description: Triptych depicting the stoning of Stephen and the legend of finding his tomb (in the original architectural frame, and with fixed wings). In the center panel the martyrdom of St. Stephen being stoned to death by an angry mob. In the foreground, a man lays his cloak at the feet of Saul. In the sky the apparition of Chriustus and God the Father. In the distance, the body of the saint is being buried. On the right the vision of the priest Lucianus in which Gamalia appears at his bedside and tells him where to find the tomb with the saint's remains. On the left side panel, Christ appears as a gardener to Mary Magdalene, Noli me tangere. In the background the Mount of the Cross and the holy women on their way to the tomb. On the right side panel scenes from the life of St. Mary Aegyptiaca receiving communion in the desert from the hermit Zosimus, in the background she crosses the Jordan River, and representations of her burial and ascension.
