Description: The so-called Flying Vessel, a vessel called Volgh My, which should reach great speeds without sails, an invention of Zaandam grocer Daam Schijf. On June 20, 1743, the vessel, with a wheel driven by five horses hidden in the hold, was launched in the Zaan where it sank.
