Description: Portrait of Pieter Cornelis Hasselaer, council of the Indies and mayor of Amsterdam with his family. Pictured are, from left to right: Hendrik Nicolaas (1749-1810) with book, Cornelis Pieter (1741-67) with microscope, Clara Suzanna (1752-1808), Geertruida Constantia (1746-94), Wendela Eleonora (born 1743) with fan, and Dirk Wybrand (1754-78). On a chair is the portrait of the mother Clara Wendela Sautijn (died 1756). The family is portrayed in a room with an Oriental carpet on the floor, on the wall a painting of Minerva in original Rococo frame.
