Description: Allegory of the Peace of Aachen concluded October 18, 1748 between the Allies (Republic, England and Austria) on the one hand and France, Prussia and Spain on the other. Europe kneels with the bull before the Peace with a horn of plenty, behind her the Dutch Virgin, in the clouds the Fame, centrally an obelisk with arms of the warring parties. On the right Father Time pulls aside the curtain to reveal the spectacle, in the foreground on the left the Singing or Poetry. Design for a print.
